So currently living in Oz looking for architectural work, and so far landed a few interviews and some private jobs doing renovation designs, draughting for a kitchen design company and graphic design stuff. I have been trying to remake my portfolio and just make everything look a bit more professional and thought out - but with my designs ive struggled a bit and realised why. And i dont know if its just me, but when i am happy with life in general, my creativity suffers. I cant seem to generate anything that is any good. a few weeks ago, two users commented and told me about one of my designs being used on a website (designbyhumans.com) in a contest. Turns out the guy ripped off my art and was trying to get a run of t shirts printed with a cash reward. this is the first time i have had my work pinched, i dont mind people asking, i actually quite like seeing other people use my stuff, especially the crazy monkey tattoo! however this royally p*ssed me off. So contacted the website and they sorted it in under 24 hours, with him being banned. im still unemployed....hurrah. But with the oodles of spare time and lack of money im turning to doing research now for my own interest in architecture. at the minute im looking into how to develop flat pack housing that is cheap and can be constructed in less than 12 hours - the reason for this altruistic research is because of whats happening back home in SA. Shanty towns where fire destory homes in a flash, no running water, electricity hijacked from powerlines leading to electrocutions, and houses made from scraps so badly that robber and rapists have easy pickings.
