But with the oodles of spare time and lack of money im turning to doing research now for my own interest in architecture. at the minute im looking into how to develop flat pack housing that is cheap and can be constructed in less than 12 hours - the reason for this altruistic research is because of whats happening back home in SA. Shanty towns where fire destory homes in a flash, no running water, electricity hijacked from powerlines leading to electrocutions, and houses made from scraps so badly that robber and rapists have easy pickings. Im tired of what i thought was architecture - fancy smancy rubbish for money. Its boring and in a recession - pointless. so, i want to explore something that means a lot to me and others, where, doubt it though, i can make a difference.
if anyone knows anything on the topic, akin to the 10x10 design indaba in capetown, please let me know,
